Nylon Sheaves
Bear Equipment is your nylon rope sheave manufacturer. We make custom nylon sheaves to your exact application specifications.
While Bear can make sheaves out of any specific nylon material you need, Nylatron GSM is the most commonly used nylon for sheaves.
Properties that make Nylatron GSM a great option for sheaves:
- Lightweight: Nylatron GSM is about 1/6 the density of steel.
- Self-Lubricating: Nylatron GSM is fillied with molybdenum disulfide, which provides mechanical and self-lubricating properties. Nylatron GSM is often used as a material for sleeve bearings, so Nylatron GSM sheaves can have a plain bore in some applications.
- Wear Resistance: Nylatron GSM provides good wear resistance and is good to use with synthetic ropes.
- Mechanical Strength: Nylatron GSM has high compressive strength.
- Corrosion Resistance: Nylatron GSM is corrosion resistant so no paint or coating required.
- Machinability: Nylatron GSM has excellent machinability properties and can be precision machined in our CNC lathes.
